“Hi.”
That was it.
So, let’s see:
John McCain, whatever he was before, is now a sentimental old fool. OLD. Also, he’s been taking it in the ass since the first Bush (43) administration and now he doesn’t know anything else. (Not that I would ever vote for him anyway.)
Mitt Romney, obviously, is a joke. We don’t need another joke president, so Romney’s out. (Not that I would ever vote for him anyway. In a million years.)
Huckabee. Um, no. (Not that I, etc.)
Clinton. I like her, but I don’t relish the prospect of the right-wing circus-freakout that would go along with her (and Bill), so I’m going to say no to that, too.
Edwards is done.
Which leaves Barack Obama.
For those of you who have, of late, inquired about books on maps (and for those who haven’t!)–stop in and check out a new arrival on the non-fiction side of the store. Maps: Finding Our Place in the World is a fabulous, top-quality book. 400 pages chock full of cartographic goodness. Lots of info, lots of pictures (of maps, naturally) with all you could want to know about maps. The chapters range in focus from earth in its entirety, world regions, American history, nature and society, and even imaginary places.
We don’t usually post notices about outside events, but this looks like a great series to check out.
It begins next Tuesday, Feb. 5th.
The LA Times ran a story this past Sunday about Perri Knize’s book Grand Obsession: A Piano Odyssey.
